The Crown We Share.ย

Oh,  the Sacred Head that suffered so tremendously for our selfishness and from it.

He took that punishment we all deserve, even for the most common of sins….

How can we be so gluttonous? So self-serving, barely thinking of others? Of HIM?

He gives Himself so fully to us and we don’t even pay attention to Him! God is all-merciful,  all loving,  but that doesn’t mean we should abuse His love….

“I firmly resolve,  with the help of Your grace, to sin no more.” When we say this we should mean it. We may be tempted to eat that whole box of Oreos or that whole cake by ourselves,  but we should really share those things with people. Satan loves to get us with those seemingly little things but they’re really not that little. Lord knows I still struggle with resisting sweets and other such indulgences but as long as we don’t continue to resist God’s help (especially when we know He’s trying to help us), we can make it  out of these self-destructive mindsets. There is hope for all of us, as long as we cooperate with God’s grace.

When you suffer from scrupulosity, it can be difficult to believe that there is any hope for you. It feels like everything you do can (or will) send you to hell, no matter what. If you’re struggling tonight, here are some quotes from some great saints that may give you hope. They definitely know suffering, so they’re right there with us.

Happy Easter!! :D

Yes, in the Catholic church it is still Easter right now and will be for the next 45 days! This year I spent the first day of Easter with my family in North Carolina because one of my cousins (Elizabeth) got baptized this year and I was her sponsor! I got to be right up there with her during the actual baptism, which was such a blessing to me.

She’s on the left and I’m on the right.

The service was 3-4 hours long but that’s okay. If you really love the church,  you can handle it,  hahaha. In between rehearsal and the actual vigil, Elizabeth took her brother Tyler and I to see the new Beauty And the Beast movie which was AMAZING! I know there’s some controversy about the gay character LeFou, but I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary in the movie,  just the usual gay jokes that you might see with a character like him. I took my parents to see it when I was back home and they loved it too! For having so many well-known faces in it,  the movie turned out surprisingly well! I do wish they had chosen someone not so famous to play Belle, though…. Then again, I’m a bit biased because she is one of my favorite princesses. Oh,  well. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a blessed evening, my deers!

The flames of life burned bright today,

Licking up the streets as they passed over the rubble road.

The bridge to eternity will be crossed by many that bore witness to the heat of this fire.

Never again will satan win this round of shock, for his ways are desperate and ours full of joy.

Light illuminates darkness, just as love eliminates hatred.

Let the flames blaze on.

Looking to my flesh

I hear the shrieks of pain commence

As they drive those nails into your wrists.

The tears flow down as a river,

Shedding grace for such tiny spectacles like me.

Like a lamb you were led

To your persecution without a sound.

For all your lambs you lost

So we could be found.

Entering Into Heaven’s Song

Like a blindfolded child,

We dive into the upper-room of reality.

What beautiful music we hear

Once we lose the tightened grip of death that chokes us,

Never knowing where to go,

We learn to hold our Father’s hand.

Diamonds shining like the rainbow,

Radiant as the sun.

The blindfold comes off and the light enters in.

Finally, we’re here.

We’re home!

What Love This Is

Such a beautiful thought

that the Father of Love would create us,

only to become us so we could rise back up to meet Him after our fall.

Such love it is

that the One would come down from Heaven and let Himself be tortured for our sake,

so we could be with Him in paradise.

The legend of longing

Has become bread for our life.

What a King we have.

The one sacrifice is now.

Listen to him as he speaks those words of humility, the very ones that will save you.

Why do you so refuse to believe your King when he so dearly wants to rescue you from this dark world?

Please don’t leave your Savior, not when he has done so much for you.

He is always with us, waiting for us at the altar.

If only you knew…

He is saving you now.

Every day He is here, waiting for us.

All the time He is thirsting for our love.

When will we choose to go

And quench His thirst?

Why shouldn’t we love the One who gave us this life?

He gave us so much beauty to love and admire….let’s fall down in adoration before the king of beauty Himself.

Listen to the angels sing. Watch the demons tremble.

No evil will survive with this much majesty….no wonder they’re afraid!

We have no reason to fear when Love is on our side.

Let go. He is waiting to protect you.

Today is Holy Thursday, the first day of the Easter Triduum. This is when the traditional washing of the feet happens during mass; tonight my grandfather was there and was one of the volunteers to get their feet washed. It truly is a beautiful sight to see… there any other religion in which the priests kneel down to do something like this for the laity? When mass is over we headed out the doors and sung the exit song, which I can’t remember the name of right now. We proceeded to the adoration chapel with the scent of incense surrounding us, silently waiting for everyone else to enter behind us. Adoration is until midnight tonight for anyone who wants to stay that long. We stayed for a few minutes but then left to go meet my grandparents outside. I certainly could have stayed longer than we did though….oh well.

We went out to eat with grandma and grandpa after mass and now my parents and I are home, watching Jesus of Nazareth.

We are dust, and to dust we shall return.

We are dust, and to dust we shall return.

Today is Ash Wednesday, and I went to mass this morning in the crazy snow. Usually we go in the evening for this but due to conflicts in schedules we had to do it in theย A.M. this year. Anyway, we didn’t didn’t get any questions or comments about it while we were out afterward. (thank goodness for that!) However, I did notice people looking at me strangely; that was kind of funny to see.

Since I couldn’t think of anything to give up physically for Lent I decided to give up something emotionally this year, which is impatience. That is one of my worst vices and I really want to change that. Let’s hope something good comes out of this! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am Catholic, not a politician.

My faith comes first. Regardless of what people may claim the church does not have a particular party; we are independent but will side with whoever seems to be the lesser evil in politics. God has been, is, and always will be the ultimate authority though. He is the one whose ideals we should follow because He is perfect love. He drives out all evil and keeps His promises. Anyone who does not believe this does not know Him, and unfortunately there are many people who choose to be stuck in the dark whether they realize it or not.

If you pray, please pray for all those in need of His mercy, and that they may grow closer to Him.

“Those Who Have Ears, Ought to Hear….”

Today my parents and I went to a religious freedom rally, which ended up being inside because of the rain.

The main speaker had us in the background as a crowd while he spoke to the audience for one of those “We approve this message!” videos. Before we’d gone to this we went to my dad’s friends house so they could discuss a book they’re currently reading. (don’t remember the name of it) He has 3 children; the first two are 11 and 7, and the third girl was born this past December; she is so cute! The discussion was interesting because it was about how precise everything had to be in order for God to make us and a place for us to live. People think Christians are uneducated and don’t care about science, but if they took the time to listen to a discussion like that they’d probably have second thoughts. ๐Ÿ™‚
